SADC Executive Secretary, H.E. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax on Monday held consultations with Honourable Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Namibia and Chairperson of the Ministerial Committee of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation on the political situation in the region, including Namibia’s ending tenure as Chair of the Organ.
Honourable Nandi-Ndaitwa and Dr. Tax underscored the significant efforts and milestones achieved during the tenure of Namibia as Chair of the SADC Organ and compared notes on how to overcome challenges experienced over the past year. They also discussed preparations for Namibia’s handing over of the Chairpersonship during the SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government in August.
