Results of the 2024-25 SADC Quality Awards

The Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is pleased to announce the results of the 2024-25 SADC Quality Awards competition for companies and individuals in the SADC region. The SADC Quality Awards were approved in 2009 by the SADC Committee of Ministers of Trade with the aim of encouraging public and private entities, to apply and comply with international standards in their day-to-dayoperations. 

The SADC Quality Awards recognize and appreciate organizations and individuals who are contributing to quality advancement in all sectors of SADC, by having measurement and quality systems, procedures and processes that are in line with local, regional and international practices and who use quality advancement to support national and regional economic development and growth.

The SADC Quality Awards are in the following five (5) categories: 

Category 1: Company of the Year

 

Category 2: Product of the Year

 

Category 3: Service of the Year

 

Category 4: Exporter of the Year

 

Category 5: Individual of the Year

 

In 2024/25, the competition received 30 entries in total from all categories, 27 companies and 3 individualsThe entries were from four Member States, namely Eswatini, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

The adjudication process was conducted remotely with the judges working online from their countries. The judges accessed the entries from the repository created by SADC Secretariat where entry forms were uploaded by the National Quality Awards Focal Points. The judges met for online consolidation process on the 26th  February 2025, and they tallied their scores as well as discussed skewed results of concern. The judges agreed to review some entries and reconvened on 6th March 2025 for the finalization meeting. The adjudication process produced the following results:
