Joint Statement by International Observation Missions to the Run-Off of the Presidential Elections in Madagascar and Members of the International Community

The International Support Group for Madagascar (GIS-M), which consists of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the African Union, the United Nations, the International Organisation of la Francophonie (OIF), and the Indian Ocean Commission, met at Corbert Hotel, Antananarivo, and agreed on the following joint statements:

We, the Heads of International Election Observation Missions to the 2018 Presidential Run-off Election to the Republic of Madagascar, and members of the International Community: 

1. affirm that the election is an expression of the democratic will and aspirations of the Malagasy people;
