Minister for Mines, Energy and Water Development Hon. Yamfwa Mukanga officiated at the 24th Water Resources Technical Committee (WRTC) Meeting held from 8 - 9 May 2013 in Lusaka, Zambia. The WRTC is the technical clearing body for the SADC Water Sector comprised of National Directors responsible for Water in SADC Member States.
Minister Mukanga emphasized the Zambian government’s commitment to promote cooperation with neighboring SADC Member States in the management and development of water resources, as well as in the development of water infrastructure in order to improve water supply.
The meeting was attended by delegates from 9 of the 15 SADC Member States, and representatives of SADC Water Sector and Implementing Institutions such as Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and WaterNet.
