Four SADC Secretariat Directorates briefed the media at Royal Swazi Hotel in Ezulweni, Swaziland on the implementation of the SADC agenda in their respective areas at as part of the publicity programme for ahead of the 36th Ordinary Summit of SADC of Heads of State and Government.
The Directors were of Budget and Finance Mr Clement Kanyama, Human Resources and Administration Mr Russell Mufaya, Infrastructure and Services Mr Remigius Makumbe. The Director of Social and Human Development and Special Programmes Mr Stephen Sianga was represented by Ms Lomthandazo Mavimbela.
During the media briefing some of the issues discussed were the SADC Secretariat financial outlook for the 2015/2016, progress on the review of the SADC organization structure, the overview performance of the Infrastructure and Services Directorate and the progress made by the Social and Human Development and Special Programmes Directorates.
Mr Makumbe also launched the fourth phase of the Regional Strategic Action Plan on Integrated Water Resources Development and Management publication. He described the publication as a vehicle for the implementation of the water component of the Revised Regional Indicative strategic Development Plan.
