SADC Executive Secretary H.E Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax held a meeting withHonourable Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation on 26 April 2014 to consult on SADC Matters in the margins of the launch of the SADC Electoral Observer Mission.
The Minister welcomed the Executive Secretary’s initiative to consult with her and pledged South Africa’s continued support to the SADC Secretariat to enable it to succeed in its mandate for the good of SADC.
The Executive Secretary thanked the Hon Minister for according her the opportunity to meet at short notice and on the eve of South Africa’s national and provincial elections. She noted that the Minister though busy facilitating the SADC Elections observer mission was able to grant her an audience which demonstrated her commitment to SADC.
The two parties agreed to meet and consult on a regular basis for the advancement of the SADC Mandate.
