SADC Finance Sub-Committee meeting held in Pretoria, South Africa

20 March 2018: The Finance Sub-Committee for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is meeting today, 20th March 2018 and tomorrow, at the Southern Sun Hotel, in Pretoria, South Africa.

The Finance Sub-Committee is the first in the series of meetings ahead of the SADC Council of Ministers Meeting which is scheduled to take place on 26 – 27 March 2018, at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), O R Tambo Building, in Pretoria, South Africa.

The Finance Sub-Committee will receive the SADC Secretariat’s performance and expenditure report for April to December 2017; review the Secretariat’s proposed budget for the year 2018/19, and clear documents for consideration by the Finance Committee and subsequent presentation to the SADC Council of Ministers.

The Finance Sub-Committee is a technical advisory committee comprising of SADC Member States that meet to finalise documents for the Finance Committee for consideration and approval by the Council of Ministers.

Members of the Finance Sub-Committee, from seven SADC Member States, namely, Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Swaziland, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, attended the meeting. The United Republic of Tanzania is the current chair of the Finance-sub Committee.
