SADC to open Liaison Office in Kinshasa in March 2018

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is set to open a liaison office in March 2018 in Kinshasa, the Capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to facilitate effective discharge of SADC Regional Cooperation activities in the DRC in a bid to support the DRC address security and political situation. 

Speaking during the inspection of the building that will house the liaison office in Kinshasa, the Executive Secretary of SADC, Her Excellency Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax commended the Government of the DRC, Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and all political stakeholders for the progress made in the ongoing political and electoral process.

Dr Tax said preparatory work have been finalized for SADC to open the liaison office in Kinshasa (in the DRC), which will be manned by experts from Organ Troika Member States (Angola, Tanzania and Zambia), supported by the SADC Secretariat.
