Host Country: Malawi

Location: Lilongwe

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will convene the Annual Conference for Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies from 22 to 24 June 2026 in Lilongwe, Republic of Malawi. The Conference will be followed by the Annual Statutory Meeting of the SADC Anti-Corruption Committee (SACC) on 25 June 2026.

The Conference will be held under the theme: “Strengthening Regional Cooperation to Combat Corruption and Illicit Financial Flows: Procurement Integrity, Asset Recovery, Whistleblower Protection and Leveraging of Digital Technologies.”

The meeting will bring together Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies from SADC Member States and relevant stakeholders to deliberate on priority issues affecting the region’s collective efforts to prevent and combat corruption. Discussions will focus on strengthening regional cooperation, enhancing procurement integrity, improving asset recovery mechanisms, promoting whistleblower protection, and leveraging digital technologies to advance transparency and accountability.

The Conference and the Statutory Meeting form part of SADC’s continued efforts to support the implementation of the Strategic Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2023-2027, which provides a framework for coordinated regional action against corruption and related illicit financial flows.

The meetings are also expected to provide strategic guidance on the work of the SADC Anti-Corruption Committee and contribute to enhanced collaboration among Member States in addressing corruption as a threat to governance, development, regional integration and public trust.

SADC remains committed to promoting good governance, accountability, transparency and integrity across the region, in line with its mandate to advance sustainable development, peace, security and regional integration.
